Hi, I'm Baguma Crescent, but most people know me as Beenie Gunter, a Ugandan Reggae Dancehall artist. I'm thrilled to share a bit about my journey in music, especially the hits you might know like "Pon Mi" and "Olina Work," the latter being a fantastic collaboration with the talented Nigerian

Career Journey

My musical journey kicked off with my debut single "No Offence," which I recorded with Producer Emon at South Side Studios. This track was released under Jahlovd Label in 2013. I then had the opportunity to work with the brilliant Ugandan video director Sasha Vybz under his Savvy Music label until 2015. That year, I made a significant move to the Stain record label, where I recorded "Lose Control." Later in 2015, I ventured out to establish my own record label, Guntalk City Movement. One of my early successes was the single "Tubayo," which I recorded during a show in Mbarara City.

I've been passionate about releasing music that resonates with my fans, and over the years, I've put out several singles like "Seekle Down," "Commando," and "Pon Mi," which features Dj Slickstuart, Dj Roja, and Skales. "Olina Work" also features Skales and has become a favorite among my listeners. It even got a shoutout from Bobi Wine in his hit "Kyarenga."

Collaboration has been a huge part of my career. I've had the honor of working with amazing artists like Eddy Kenzo, Sheebah Karungi, and international stars like Nyanda, Kranium, The Kemist, Gyptian, Beenie Man, and of course, Skales. Performing on stages like the Major Lazer Kampala Concert in October 2018 and the Nyege Nyege Festival in 2019 has been an absolute thrill.

In December 2017, I was honored to win the Buzz Teenz Awards for Teeniez Dancehall Artist of the Year and Teeniez Hottest Dancehall Song for "Pon Mi." I was also nominated for Most Stylish Male Artist of the Year at the 2018 Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards.

In March 2018, I teamed up with Talent Africa Group as their official booking agent. This partnership evolved into a comprehensive 360 management deal in June 2019, with Talent Africa Group bringing in Ambassada as my publicist and Chagga, the former manager of Radio and Weasel, as my tour manager.

The release of my debut album "No Fear" on 26 August 2019 was a milestone moment. We had an incredible listening party at Talent Africa, where I was joined by featured artists like Lydia Jazmine, A Pass, The Mith, Big Trill, and Skales. It was a night to remember, and I'm grateful for all the support from my fans and fellow artists.
