Early Life and Education:
I was born in the Central region of Uganda, specifically in the Buganda kingdom, to my parents Mr. Mugerwa John and Rose Namagembe. My upbringing was in the suburbs of Namugongo and Kyaliwajjala in Kampala. Despite some financial means, my father abandoned me at a young age, and my siblings and I sometimes stayed with our aunt. I attended Sunset Primary School in Kireka and later transferred to Kireka Grammar Primary School. For my secondary education, I enrolled in Kira Secondary School but had to quit in senior five due to financial constraints.
Work Experience:
Apart from pursuing my passion for music, I also teach hairstyling at the UYDEL institute in Wandegeya.
Music Career:
My journey in music started at a young age when I joined the church choir in Namugongo. Initially hesitant about pursuing music professionally, I was encouraged by friends to participate in Rated Next competitions. Despite facing challenges during auditions, my talent was noticed by Catherine Kusasira during the De New Eagles tryouts at Gold Production. Eventually, I joined the Golden Band, and in 2016, my hit track "Ontuka" featuring Dr. Hilderman propelled me into the spotlight.
Relationships:
Throughout my career, I've been involved in various relationships, including ones with NTV anchor Dagy Nyce, Dr. Hilderman, gospel musician Levixone, and singer Mathias Walukagga of Kadongo Kamu. It's important to clarify that my relationship with Dagy Nyce was purely platonic. After my breakup with Mathias Walukagga, he reclaimed the car and laptop he had bought for me.
Achievements and Awards:
As a solo artist, I've been able to earn an annual income of UGX 16 million and have an estimated net worth of UGX 80 million. Projections indicate that I'll earn over UGX 25 million from concerts and performances in 2022.
Discography:
My albums include "Nsika" (2021) and "Tukiggale" (2018). Some of my selected songs include "Bittafutafu," "Ensonga" featuring Kabuye Sembogga, "Kufa Kuwona," "Wankwekula," "Ndagirila," "Gwe Wange," "Jangu" featuring Chosen Becky, "Oliwa," "Misumali," "Silwana" featuring Sheebah, "Ontuuka," "Tukigale" featuring Eddy Yawe, "Kamese Tambula," "Nakusiima," "Ompuuba," and "Nsika."
Controversies:
Throughout my career, I've faced controversies, including responding harshly to a fan's comment on my weight and experiencing disruptions during performances, such as being cut off stage in South Africa. I also made the decision to leave the Golden Band due to group politics and an unhealthy working environment.
